The most prestigious Korean country club with a European atmosphereGA KOREA Smart City & Resort
Korea Country Club is located in Giheung Complex, Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do. It is very popular as one of the golf courses close to Seoul's Gyeonggi area because it is convenient to reach in 40 minutes by passing through Giheung Tolkate on the Gyeongbu Expressway from Gangnam, Seoul.
New Gyeonggi Tourism Korea CC opened in 1994 and consists of a total length of 9,025m (par 108 holes) of a membership 27-hole course (creak, challenge, and lake course) on 1.2 million pyeong of land. The course was designed by Katoo, a Japanese, and Lim Sang-ha, the late top designer in Korea. The golf course belongs to GA Korea Group (Chairman Lee Dong-joon), which operates 81 holes (36 holes in Gold CC, 9 holes in Korea Public, 9 holes in Ganghwa Well-being) in Korea, and 18 holes in Kobe, Japan, and 18 holes in LA, the U.S.
The golf course is located 300m above sea level and is deeply buried in the mountains, facing south, so it is cool in the summer and sunny and windless in the winter, allowing you to enjoy comfortable and warm golf. The course has flat terrain with little undulation, but there are four ponds and penalty areas in the center, waiting for golfers to miss their shots everywhere. Korea Country Club in GA KOREA smart city & resort is a golf course that has been loved by many people since its opening. The difficulty level is medium to high, and it is generally evaluated as a luxury golf course.
Several Greek statues and swing models of Tiger Woods and Michelle Wie are installed throughout the course at the entrance to the clubhouse and on the tee at the 4th hole (par 4) of the Lake Course. There is an artificial rainbow behind the teeing area of the 4th hole, so when you look at it from a distance, it feels like a real rainbow is floating.
The course is planted with dense forests and flowering trees that bloom every season. When spring comes, cherry blossoms are in full bloom on both sides of the course entrance, creating a truly beautiful spectacle. In spring, peonies, cherry blossoms, and forsythia brightly color the entire course, and in early summer, Rhododendron indicum and azaleas are in bloom everywhere. White European Snowball in May, roses and lilacs bloom in June, and hydrangeas and Chinese trumpet creeper in July and August. Tree zinnias begin to bloom in September and last until the end of October. The autumn leaves that turn the mountains and fields red are also famous for their beauty.
Around this golf course challenge course, various types of luxury detached villas ranging from 48 pyeong to 124 pyeong are harmonized with the green golf course, creating the feeling of playing in the United States or Europe. Golfers are leading the popularization of golf in all fields, including various professional and amateur golf competitions, charity golf competitions, non-profit and group golf competitions, middle and high school golf competitions to discover promising players, and the GA Amateur Men's and Women's Golf Competition to promote golf as a recreational sport. Of course, it is receiving great praise from society.
The management always does its best to manage the course to maintain good conditions, and the fairways and greens are especially well maintained, giving players satisfaction. The clubhouse has a variety of facilities, including a second-floor restaurant overlooking the green green and a separate VIP room. The restaurant menu changes depending on the season, and the quality of the food is clean and luxurious, so you can enjoy the same taste as a first-class hotel.
Creek Course
The course is built entirely on a small ridge and consists of stepped holes. The hole is a mixture of short and long holes, and the green is generally small, but the underduration is severe and hard, so it is difficult to get par. This course has difficult par 3 holes, so scores are not good.
The 1st starting hole (par 5) is a tee shot from a cliff toward the fairway, giving weekend golfers a sense of fear as the ridge on the left overlooks the OB on the right. Hole 2, par 4, is a short hole of 230m, but there is a pond in front of the green, so if you safely send your tee shot to the front of the penalty area, you can easily attack it with a second shot. Although it is a short par 3 hole (130m), the right side is a hazard, so you must aim your tee shot at the hill on the left. Green is very fast on the ridge of Eunsan Mountain, so be careful when approaching.
The 5th hole of the Creek Course (par 4 380m) is a long par 4 hole, and there is a hazard in front of the green and a steep pit on the side, so if your tee shot is short, you will have to do a layup. If you overdo it, it will ruin your score. The key to the 9th par 5 hole (460m) is the drive tee shot. If you try and fail to get over the pine tree on the left, it's OB. There's a rocky mountain on the right, so if you go too far, you'll go into the forest. The second shot is wide and easy, and the green is also wide.
Challenge Course
It is the most reputable 9-hole course among Korea's golf courses, starting on flat terrain and winding along a ridge. The 2nd par 3 hole (130m) is a hole that requires an accurate shot as it has a bunker in front of the green across the pond and the green is shaped like a peanut. The 4th hole (380m) is a handicap number 1 upward hole. It is a long, left dogleg slice hole, and the green is small and has a lot of undulation, so it is not easy to get par. The 5th par 5 hole (460m) is a dogleg hole to the right, so you must be careful not to take your second shot to the left.
In the par 3 hole 6 (150m) past the shade house, the pond in the center is an obstacle and the green extends to the side like a sweet potato. The green strategy is right in the center, and if there is a slice, the ball flies down the hill. The 7th par 4 hole (320m) has a very severe slice, so you should aim to the left. The cart road from the 7th hole green to the 8th par 5 hole must pass through the road between the La Centra Villa complex, and the tee box is located right in front of the villa, so you can enjoy the unique feeling of playing a round among residential areas.
Lake Course
It consists of a very challenging and interesting hall. Hole 1, par 5 (460m), is a downward hole and requires a tee shot toward the corner of the bunker on the left. If you get a slice, the second shot becomes difficult because it is long and the mountain ridge is on the right. The 2nd hole (par 4) is the 2nd handicap hole and is long. A tee shot to the right will result in an OB, and the left side is a mountain ridge, so you must be careful of your drive tee shot. There is a bunker in front of the green, so you have to make a high-trajectory shot, and the green is small and the breaks are severe from top to bottom.
The 3rd par 3 hole (145m) has a two-tier green that goes over a pond, so you must select a club depending on the location of the pin. If your tee shot is short, you will end up in a flower field, so you have to hit it long. Hole 4 is the most romantic hole on the course. An artificial rainbow is installed, and behind it is a photo zone with models of Tiger Woods and Michelle Wie's driver swings. It is a short hole and shares a small stream with hole 5. There is a large pond on the left side of the green, so be careful with your second shot.
The signature hole of this course is the par 8, par 3 hole (105m). This is a romantic hole with a pond in front of the green and a European-style villa behind the green in the distance. It's a short hole, but if you look at it, it's easy to make a double par, so be careful. The 9th hole, which overlooks the shade house, is a par 4 (320m) straight hole, but the green is upward, so you need to take 2 clubs wide on your second shot. The green also flows quickly from top to bottom, so when approaching, you must place the ball lower than the hole to avoid a three-putt.
